Almond Beach Belize is a luxury beach resort, small enough that you matter, large enough to have all the amenities you look for. It shares its amenities with our co-owned, sister resort, Jaguar Reef Lodge, and is located on a 7 mile section of beautiful beach by the Caribbean Sea ideal for adventure travel in Belize.

We are a Canadian family and our son Dave, has lived in Belize for almost two decades.

We built Almond Beach Belize to respond to requests from guests for private, luxurious, beachside accommodation to return to after a high energy day diving, snorkeling the reef or exploring the magic of Belize.

Our resort was opened in December 2004, and we spent all of that year sourcing Central America for the unique touches which we knew would make Almond Beach unique in Belize.

We used craftsmen in Belize to build our handcarved beds, tables and storage units. Two Nicaraguan carvers spend several months carving the decorative posts and beams that support our roofs, porches and verandas. Marble and granite counter tops and sinks came from Guatemala and our tiles and bathroom murals from Mexico. Our original art work, slate carvings, pots and statues came from local artists in Belize, Guatemala and Nicaragua. Our swim-up Tiki Bar and Beachfront Castitas were thatched with local leaf brought out of the nearby jungle, and our floors and furniture are made from an amazing range of local woods including mahogany, cabbage bark and barba jalote.

On May 1st 2007, we opened our new section of our luxury beach resort at Almond Beach Belize. This comprised two exciting new Beachfront Veranda Suites - enabling us to offer a premium loction for small families, yards from the sea; and our new, luxurious, 3500 square feet Owners, Vista Suite, ideal for larger groups travelling together, weddings, and family reunions.  We also added our new Penthouse and Hummingbird Suites, built on the third floor of our Colonial building and also offering spectacular sea views and at Christmas this year we will open new rooms and suites that complete our resort locations with a third pool and elegant courtyard.

On November 17th 2008 we purchased our sister resort, Jaguar Reef Lodge and now run the two adjacent resorts as one.

In November 2009 we added a brand new coffee shop where you can relax and taste test the best coffee from the seven countries of Central America and at the end of December 2009 we added our final building - Villa Verano. This  provides an additional ten rooms, in the form of one Ultimately Luxurious (5,500 square feet) Family Suite, one penthouse room, three luxurious beachfront rooms, and two courtyard rooms. This new facility  also features a third beachside pool, Courtyard and Great Room - the ideal place for a destination wedding, or family reunion.
